Synthesis of Ti-Ni and Zr-Ni Core–Shell Particles Using Galvanic Replacement

This article focuses on the galvanic replacement synthesis of Ti-Ni and Zr-Ni metal systems with a “core-shell” structure, which are potential precursors for intermetallics. The authors defined effective parameters formation features polymetallic characterized by granulometric, phase, elemental composition. X-ray fluorescence phase analysis methods showed that deposition nickel dispersed titanium zirconium leads to production test samples composition representing mechanical mixture Ni Ti, Zr. method presence hydrofluoric acid 0.5-1.5 M concentration results in fixed quantitative ratios elements precipitate, allows “titanium-nickel” “zirconium-nickel” be regulated within relatively wide range. Scanning electron microscopy proved all synthesized highly porous structure follows particle surface contour spherical nanoscale subunits formed surface.
